How To Unlock Rotation On Iphone 7

First and foremost, ensure that iOS's Screen Rotation Lock isn't active on your iPhone. To do this, look in the upper right-hand corner of your home or lock screen, next to the battery indicator. Tap the whitened Orientation Lock button to disable it. Tap on a blank area of the screen to hide Control Center. If the screen still won't rotate, try a different app, like Safari or Notes – some.

You can easily lock the screen orientation on your iPhone or iPod touch. Here is how you can enable rotation lock. This will prevent your iPhone display from automatically changing orientation (or rotating) when you turn your iPhone on its side:

  • Rotate your device so the screen is in the desired orientation; portrait or landscape mode.
  • Double click the home button to see recently used apps (multitasking bar).
  • Swipe from left to right
  • Tap the Screen Rotation Lock button. To turn off, tap the icon so that the lock disappears.
  • A rotation lock icon will appear in the status bar when you enable rotation lock.
  • When you lock your screen rotation, your device will not respond to the accelerometer sensor.

Troubleshooting:

  • Some apps may only use portrait or landscape mode.
  • The home screen on the iPhone and iPod touch can't rotate.
  • If you are having problems, simply restart your iPhone/iPod.

So, there at least a couple of easy ways to rotate videos on iPhones, but we'd say that the easiest one is by using the pre-installed Photos app. To do that:

  1. Open your 'Photos' app
  2. Tap on the video of your choice
  3. Tap on the 'Edit' button at the top right part of the screen
  4. Select the 'Crop' icon at the bottom right part
  5. Use the slider above the icons to rotate the video
  6. And once you're done, tap on 'Done'

Alternatively, you can also press on the 'rotate' icon at the top left part of the screen.

It's really that simple. And if that's not good enough for you, there's always the option of using 3rd party apps as well. While there are a ton of them in the App Store, one of the most popular ones is iMovie because, well, we're talking about Apple here.

So, if you prefer that route instead, you need to:

  1. Go to the App Store
  2. Search for iMovie and install it
  3. Open the app
  4. Select 'Create movie' at the bottom of the screen
  5. Add the video that you want to rotate by using the '+' button
  6. Use two fingers to rotate the video in the direction you want
  7. And click on 'Done' after you're, well, done

There are plenty of other apps that can do the same thing and more as well. Just keep in mind that each one of them will likely have a slightly different process which you'll have to learn either on your own or by searching line.
